Dentures made by Kevin Tatlock at Ontario Dental Arts are the best in the Treasure Valley, and in order to keep them in optimal condition, periodic adjustments may be necessary. Here are a couple tips for giving your dentures the best care.
  • Always bring your dentures to Ontario Dental Arts for adjustments.
  • Never use superglue or other bonding agents to make repairs to your dentures.
Your new dentures may take some adjustment time for optimal comfort. If at any point you experience pain or extraordinary discomfort, you should contact our team of professionals at Ontario Dental Arts as soon as possible. We hope to make your experience with dentures a pleasant one.
If you recently received dentures or a partial denture after an extraction, it is possible that you will need a temporary liner to aid in the healing process. After one year, a permanent liner will need to be purchased. Please contact our office for an appointment.

Cleaning your dentures is the best way to ensure their long life. Here are a couple tips for keeping your dentures in clean, excellent condition.

  • Brush your dentures under warm, running water with a soft toothbrush.
  • Use a cleanser, such as Bright Now or Sparkle denture cleaners, which are both available at Ontario Dental Arts.
  • Soak your dentures in a cleaning solution daily for best cleansing results, and rinse thoroughly before use.
  • Brush your gums daily with a soft toothbrush and toothpaste. This will eliminate food buildup and promote a healthy mouth.
  • Avoid dropping your dentures. Most breakage occurs during cleaning. A good strategy to protect your dentures is to clean them over a sink filled with water or a towel.
  • Hold your dentures in your fingers, not in the palm of your hand. This will help to keep from grasping and bending or breaking if grasped too hard.
  • Never use toothpaste on your dentures. Abrasives in toothpaste will harm your dentures with repeated use.
If you wear partial dentures, maintaining your natural teeth should be a high priority. Ontario Dental Arts recommends a yearly cleaning and checkup with your dentist.
